Skin MD Review and Giveaway

by admin on June 10, 2009

Skin cancer runs amok in my family. My younger sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother have all had it removed and since it first reared it’s ugly head, I have been adamant about not going outside without lathering myself in sunscreen. Sure, it’s earned me the nickname Transparent Girl, but I’ll have the last laugh when I’m older and still have the skin of a baby and I’Skin MDm surrounded by women that look like they could have played Magda’s body double in, “There’s Something About Mary.” HA!

Anyway, the thing I hate most about having to use sunscreen and lotions with SPF is the greasyness factor. Not only does it feel gross on my skin, but it clogs my pores and makes me relive my teenage years. No, not the cute-body-carefree-attitude-no-responsibilities teenage years. The breakout years. Zits. Gross.

Skin MD is a great alternative to all of those sunscreens and creams that leave your skin a mess and that don’t really do anything for you but block the sun’s rays. I was lucky enough to get to try their shielding lotion and was extremely impressed! It wasn’t greasy, it kept the sun at bay, and it actually made my skin look great! It glides on so smoothly and absorbs into my skin with no problems. I noticed within just a few days that a few of my dry skin problem areas were beginning to vanish and that my hands were reaping the benefits, too. It’s also gentle enough to use on the pint-sized babes you might have living under your roof! Two of our little guys have some nasty eczema issues and Skin MD put the kabash on the itchies and scratchies. I’m happy to report that their eczema is quickly exiting the premises. Skin MD also boasts the following features:

  • No animal products or testing
  • Dermatology tested
  • Fragrance and colorant free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Paraben free
  • Non-comedogenic

Anyone who has skin worries like I do or who just wants to look their best should definitely cruise around Skin MD’s site.  It’s a great resource for information.  I was personally intrigued by the bits they had about thyroid skin conditions.  While my skin isn’t as bad as the pictures show, it is still dry and itchy.  I’ve tried so many different lotions and was floored that this stuff actually did the job!

My skin is so terribly dry and nothing I try helps like I need. My work and the weather make my skin even dryer and rough. My mother has worse skin problems and has eczema. IWe could both use this product to help heal our skin.

I have the same problem you do in that my face gets all greasy and breaks out when I put normal sunscreen on. My skin seems to vary between being really dry or just really greasy and I would love a lotion that is good for it and could help! Thanks!

I have fair skin and freckles – so I use sunscreen daily all year round and twice on sunny days.
