New York City Pt. 2: The “I did what?!” addition

by admin on September 27, 2009

Needless to say, when I found out I was going to be attending the Ninja launch with my three besties I was just a tad excited. We had an insane amount of fun together at BlogHer in Chicago and I knew this trip would not disappoint.

After the gang (consisting of Amanda, Amanda’s husband Pat, Liz, Casey, and Kristin) all arrived at the Shertaon Manhattan, we took off for a night on the town.  Seeing all of New York, let alone the tiny strip of Manhattan we were haunting, was going to be near impossible but we were up to the challenge.  We started off with drinks at Faces & Names and the craziness ensued.  With all of us being parents to fairly young kiddos we just don’t drink, so believe me when I tell you that after cocktail #1 I was feelin’ pretty darn good in that “my head is floating above my body” kind of way.

At around 9:30 we had to jet to make it to our dinner reservations at Rosa Mexicano.  Known for their guacamole made table side and frozen pomegranate margaritas, I knew this was a place we couldn’t miss out on.  Within 5 minutes of sitting down, we were all chattering away over each other, making crude jokes, and throwing back cocktails like it was nobody’s business.  Uncontrollable giggles turned into ear drum shattering screams and belly laughs as we broke out the cameras for pictures and interviews.  I’ll let the video speak for itself:

If you made out any of that conversation, consider yourself lucky. Obviously we were out of control and having the time of our lives!  It’s not often you get to hang out with the friends you have scattered to the four corners and I believe that when you get that chance you should pack in as much insanity as possible. We laughed, we got unruly, we had a woman come up to our table at the end of the night and tell her that everyone in the restaurant wanted to be sitting with us because our table is where the party was at. We closed Rosa’s down.

Not wanting to go to sleep quite yet, we headed to a karaoke bar on 42nd St. and followed that adventure up with some more interviews on Time Square. We all (finally!) crashed between 3 and 5 a.m., stomachs hurting from laughing almost nonstop all night long. These girls really are my tribe. We all get each other and, even though I hadn’t really spent any time with Amanda before nor met her husband, they fit right in, no problem. It was such an awesome trip to spend with such great people. I can’t wait to see what it’s going to be like next summer when we take over NYC all over again. Much love to you ladies!!
